Meet the Team We have a fabulous team at The Point who will be pleased to welcome you to our Club. All of the team are passionate about health and fitness and will be on hand to ensure you enjoy your time with us and achieve your goals. All members of the team are professionally qualified and have their own personal approach to training. It’s all part of ensuring a fun and varied environment. * JIMMY Our Health Club manager James Bradford; a local beach bum who grew up surfing and surf life saving. Jimmy was part of the “Surf Life Saving Club” in Polzeath from the age of 7 to 16, representing Cornwall in the national championships and competing around the country. A RNLI beach life guard on Polzeath for 8 years, Jimmy decided to pursue a career in the leisure industry. Jimmy achieved a BSc Hons in Biology from Swansea University and went on to manage a Leisure Centre near Bristol. Jimmy really enjoyed experiencing city living but ultimately could not keep himself away from the sea so came back to Polzeath to take on the running of our health club. Jimmy’s approach to fitness: The best way to stay fit is to find the sport you are passionate about – train in the gym to take your sports performance to the next level. JORDAN Jordan is a fully qualified personal trainer with a background of mobility, movement and has a great understanding of how to live life pain free. He uses his knowledge alongside techniques such as banded stretches, vodo band flossing, smashing and rolling to increase mobility and range of movement. He uses these specialised techniques with personal training clients to improve fitness, health and wellbeing. It’s not about how much you can lift; it’s about how effective you are whilst performing in or out of the gym. STEPHANIE Stephanie has worked in fitness for over 20 years. Firstly qualifying as an Aerobics and Step Aerobics Instructor, she then went on to work with the US Navy, qualifying as a Navy standard Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer. Stephanie gained 11 years of valuable experience also qualifying with World Body Building Association and training as a mat based pilates instructor. After leaving the Navy and having children, she then re qualified as a level 3 Personal Trainer to refresh her knowledge. Stephanie Teaches: Spinning Circuits Box Fit Legs, Bums and Tums Pump Stephanie’s Approach to Fitness To me fitness is a way of life. I hope to inspire the people I work with to share this view. CRAIG Craig is a level 2 qualified Fitness Instructor and also a level 3 Personal Trainer. Craig has a passion for weightlifting and has completed several fitness workshops including a course focused on strength and conditioning. Previously part of a powerlifting club, Craig is excited to help anyone looking to build muscle and/or strength in the gym. MEGAN Megan Burns is a level 2 qualified gym instructor, Zumba dance instructor and Spinning instructor. She is currently working towards her level 3 in personal training and hopes to complete that within a year. Growing up in Polzeath she got into surf training from a young age and went on to compete, ranking 1st in UK for U16’s and getting selected for the junior GB team. She loves gymnastics, flexibility training and yoga. Megan Teaches: Zumba Spinning Circuits Pump Legs Bums and Tums Megan’s Approach to Fitness Make it hard, but make it fun. Fitness shouldn’t be a chore! ROSIE Rosie comes from a background of dance and performance. Her enthusiasm is unstoppable and she is passionate about dance and fitness. A level 2 qualified fitness instructor, Rosie achieved her level 3 personal trainer in May 2017 and was awarded the national silver medal for world skills UK gym instructing in 2016. Rosie’s favourite hobby is pole fitness which she says is a fantastic way to get toned and increase strength.
