We are really pleased to welcome Alex Harris to offer Sports Massage at The Point. Alex will work out of the Seventh Heaven Beauty and Spa Room every Monday during term time.
Alex Harris qualified with Body Control Pilates in London back in 2000 and has been teaching Pilates for the past 16 years. During this time, she developed a good understanding of the body, it’s capabilities and restrictions.
To compliment her Pilates and further assist her clients she decided to train to become a Sports Masseur and gained an ITEC Level 3 in March 2014. Since this time, Alex has established a clinic at her North Cornwall home and assisted clients with various muscular issues. She works closely with other professionals including, Physio, Osteopaths, Chiropractors and other recognised therapist to ensure that clients return to full fitness as quickly as possible.
She has recently been accepted on to a bridging programme with Institute of Sports and Remedial Masseurs to complete her Level 5 and hopes to gain this high level qualification by May 2017.
Alex says ‘Sports Massage is not just for sporting people, the technique helps to improve suppleness and flexibility while releasing tension in over-tight or overworked muscles. However, if you are an active or sporting individual, this form of massage can increase fitness capabilities and performance potential. It can also aid recovery time following an injury and help to prevent further problems by breaking down adhesions and lactic acid build up. So whether you have neck problems from working at a computer all day or want to ensure your body keeps injury free when training in the gym, Sports Massage can benefit you’.
Alex is now offering sports massage at The Point on Mondays and appointments can be booked direct with her on 07813 178267. An initial consultation cost £35 and further treatments are £30 for 45 minutes.
