This Monday March 27th the pool facilities will be closed from 1pm for an hour for the last leg of a great charity swim.
Over the last month one of our members, David Withers has been racking up the lengths in our pool to total up to a channel crossing, we’ve all been watching him labour away from reception and his determination is fantastic!
All of the money David has raised will be going directly to Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust (funding the air ambulances in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly). The air ambulance was launched over 700 times last year and for many people has been the difference between life and death. To support David you can visit his JustGiving page, or just pop a few pennies in the donation pot at reception. So far almost £2000 has been raised.
If you would like to see David finish his swim please feel free to turn up on the 27th at 13:00 to show your support. Paralympian Stephanie Millward (a close friend of David) will be joining David in the pool so it may be a good opportunity to get some swimming tips from a pro! The Point will also be supporting this great charity later this year. Our annual Polzeath Beer Festival takes place July 28th and 29th and we will be raising funds for the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust. Read more ….
