The sky’s the limit for Polzeath Beer Festival and the Cornish Air Ambulance!
This year’s Polzeath Beer Festival looks set to be bigger and better than ever, with 11 bands already signed up for the popular two-day charity event organised by The Point at Polzeath and supported by St Austell Brewery.
Now in its fifth year, the event has already raised more than £10.000 for charities including FLEET, Macmillan, Children’s Hospice SW and The Bella Rose Appeal. Event Organiser Sarah Bray is hoping the 2017 event on July 28th and 29th will push the boundaries even further, with Cornwall Air Ambulance chosen as the main beneficiary for this year’s fundraising activities.
Announcing the event, Sarah said, “We are thrilled that the Polzeath Beer Festival has been so successful; every year we seem to be busier and the weather seems to be on our side so we are really looking forward to raising money for a great cause.
“We started the festival as a welcome to the summer for locals and holidays makers and now a lot of families base their holiday around it, which is incredible. But raising money for the charities is the drive behind the festival and definitely makes all the hard work worth it”
There will be live music from The Stowes, Motown Pirates, Devils Deuce, Black Friday Band, Loco, Go Go Skank and more. See the LINE UP. The festival will feature a wide selection of beers and cider from St Austell Brewery, wines from Vondeling, the Fizz Fellas and Tarquins Gin will also be in attendance to ensure the festival goers will be kept refreshed!
Kicking off at 5pm on Friday 28th and midday on Saturday 29th July, a host of activities are also planned to keep children entertained, including Cornwall Party Karts, bouncy castles, toddler play area and face painting.
Tickets for the charity event cost £15 for the weekend which includes a pint glass and your first drink, with proceeds going to the Cornish Air Ambulance alongside donations to Riding for the Disabled and the British Heart Foundation. The Cornwall Air Ambulance flies more than 700 lifesaving missions each year throughout Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. It does not receive any government funding for these rescue missions and so relies on the generosity of the public and organisations. This year the Cornish Air Ambulance is celebrating their 30th anniversary.
