SUMMER OF MUSIC FESTIVALS
July is the warmest month with the most sunshine and the sea nearing top temperature. The start of the school holidays, Wimbledon, Lords Test, music festivals galore in Cornwall, …. lunch on the beach, long summer evenings and drinks in the Bear Bar.
June 30th – July 2nd Tunes in the Dunes
The largest beach festival in Cornwall set in the golden sands of Perranporth beach. An hours drive from The Point, but a must for the contemporary rock enthusiast.
June 23rd, July 1st/6th/11th Eden Sessions
Spend the summer evening with the amazing back drop of the Eden Biomes jamming to some brilliant musicians. There are still tickets available for the Blondie, Van Morrison, Bryan Adams and Foals concerts. Only a 45 minute drive from The Point.
July 7 – 8th Rock Oyster Festival
Just the other side of the Camel Estuary – The Rock Oyster Festival has become a must on the local scene and is known as a midsummer celebration of food & music.
July 25th – August 4th The St Endellion Music Festival
In its 59th year – from Brahms to Stravinsky, Broadway music to late night brass bands. In the Collegiate Church of St Endelienta, it brings together a wide range of musicians from all over the world. Near Port Isaac and only 20 minutes from The Point.
July 27 – 30th Port Eliot Festival
Set in the historic gardens of the Port Eliot Estate, a literary festival, celebrating music, food and much more. Many describe this event as a huge garden party. On the south coast and an hours drive from The Point – this is a hugely popular festival.
Friday July 28th Music in the Park at Prideaux Place
Just a boat ride away, across the Camel Estuary in Padstow you find this historic house and gardens. Every year the local Rotary Club organise an event raising funds for local charities. This year you will find a Rod Stewart tribute band and the well know local Cornish comedian Johnny Cowling.
Friday July 28th – Saturday July 29th Polzeath Beer and Music Festival
The Point at Polzeath launched Polzeath Beer Festival in 2013 as a small charity event with live music showcasing mainly local bands, family entertainment and of course a range of beverages. Becoming a huge hit straight away – the event has doubled in size every year in terms of visitor numbers.
