Our great team of chefs have put together a new winter menu with winter warming comfort foods to warm the soul and body. With October comes colder, shorter days and darker evenings. Our cravings for comfort foods, hot soups and winter stews make summer salads a distant memory.
This autumn our chefs have taken inspiration from around the world with the French classic Beef Bourguinon, the ultimate winter comfort dish where beef stewed in red wine falls of the fork, Italian Gnocchi in seasonal pumpkin veloute and pumpkin seeds, Pad Thai with chillis and flavours from the far East, Indian lamb curry with chickpeas and coriander and finally our classic Bergen Fish Chowder. The Point Chowder has been a favourite on our menu for many years. This light cream-based fish soup from Norway uses seasonal fish and vegetables giving it slightly different flavours and textures throughout the year.
With everyone being more concerned about sustainability and climate change, many of us are reducing our meat and fish intake. The word flexitarian pops up in conversations more and more. We feel it is important to reflect this and have more vegetarian and vegan options available this season than ever. Try our Gnocchi – Pad Thai (with or without egg) or another “Point favourite” halloumi burger.
Mushroom Parmesan and Garlic Pizza, Doombar and Cheddar rarebit and sharing dishes of warm Camembert or hummus with flatbreads are also popular with vegetarians. We also aim to have a vegetarian option on the specials board each day.
Our small plates and starters are designed as sharing dishes. It is all about meeting with friends having informal meals and fun times.
Over the October half term and over the Christmas holidays we will also feature a specials menu with two courses and a glass of wine for £20 on offer for both lunch and dinner. We will also be running a festive brunch menu perfect for those looking for a little more substance before or after a brisk mornings walk. Menu TBC.

We will see the New Year in with our 3-course festive menu in the restaurant and DJ Wappo entertaining with his brilliant disco in the Bear Bar. Please note that we have limited tickets for New Year’s Eve – so please book early to avoid disappointment. Our menus for the evening will available over the coming weeks.
