Looking ahead to February half term 2020? North Cornwall with its wild beaches is a great alternative to a crowded skiing holiday. We have fantastic self-catering accommodation and February school holiday is brilliant value at winter prices.

Cornwall in February

Make the most of the beautiful beaches and empty footpaths or challenge yourself to winter surf lessons. You can always warm yourself up in the Health Club’s sauna or steam room afterwards or perhaps open a good bottle of red with some Davidstow cheddar and sit by the log fire (several of our properties with log fires are still available).

We also have dog-friendly properties in our portfolio and the first school holiday of the year is an ideal time to bring your family friend down to the North Cornish Coast. Dogs are still welcome on all the Cornish Beaches including Polzeath, Rock, Porthilly and Daymer Bay. We have mapped out 5 top local walks to make it easier for you to plan your week and we are always happy to advise you if you have any questions.

Camel Estuary from Rock

With Polzeath Beach only a 15 minute walk away, you really get the best of both worlds when staying in our holiday accommodation; the buzz of Polzeath a short distance away and the peaceful accommodation we provide set within the grounds of The Point at Polzeath.

There are plenty of day trips and things to entertain you and your family that we can recommend trying during your holiday. If you have not already visited The Eden Project, this really is a wonderful experience for all ages. Over the February half term, they organise special activities and their indoor ice skating rink (a popular local attraction).

We also always recommend the ferry trip from Rock to Padstow for a family day out. Padstow is a typically picturesque Cornish fishing village and is also the start and end of the Camel Trail, an excellent opportunity to hire some bikes and take in the views of the Camel Estuary. Why not visit the National Lobster Hatchery and enjoy some Fish and Chips or a Cornish Pasty before you return to your base. Do not forget to dress up warm as it can get chilly on the ferry, but worth every minute.

Padstow to Rock Ferry, Cornwall

All our properties are self-catering, but should you fancy a night or two off cooking and dishes duties, our restaurant and bar is only a 5-minute walk from all our properties. Delicious food served all day – seven days a week using nothing but the best local produce.

Throughout the half-term weeks, the specials boards will also feature Alpine food, just in case you miss your skiing holiday this year. From the classic Tartiflette, Beef Bourgignon and French Onion Soup from the French Alps to Rosti (and venison sausage) from the Swiss Alps there are plenty of wintery warming foods on offer after a brisk walk on the beach. You can view some of our previous favourites here.

If you are unable to take a full week of work we are also offering short breaks in some of our accommodation over the February Half-Term holidays.
