COVID-19 Updates from The Point at Polzeath

In light of the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we will continue to update this page with information as the government make announcements in the coming days and weeks. Please refer to this for the latest up to date information from us here at The Point.

Last Updated: 05/09/21 – 8am

Due to the easing of restrictions individual facilities at The Point will be operating slightly closer to normal than before, however given the local and national rise in infection, we feel it is necessary to be continuing with the vast majority of our previous COVID measures until further notice.

This is to ensure that we can continue to operate safely, and everyone visiting us, and our team, can continue to feel at ease during what we expect will be an unprecedently busy period in Cornwall.

Please see below for the individual operations for the facilities at The Point.

Changes to Food and Beverage Operations at Time of Writing:

There are currently no restrictions in place for eating and drinking at The Point. Please refer to our Restaurant and Bear Bar pages for menus and opening times.

We recommend that table enquiries are made for those wishing to visit us during busy times.

We ask that people remain respectful of other peoples space and advise that face masks are worn indoors for the protection of other members/visitors and staff.

Changes to Golf Operations at the time of writing

The course is open to both Members and Non-Members as per the Governments guidelines. The golf reception is open 7:30am – 7pm daily.

We ask that people remain respectful of other peoples space and advise that face masks are worn indoors for the protection of other members/visitors and staff.

Players must not visit the Club if they are feeling unwell, self-isolating, showing any symptoms of COVID-19, or have been in contact with a person diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days.

All golf must still be pre-booked in advance. No turn-up and play golf will be permitted until further notice.

Changes to Health Club Operations at the Time of Writing:

The majority of restrictions on pre-booking gym and swim sessions have been lifted with some minor measures in place. For full details on our current and future Health Club operations please see our dedicated page here.

Changes to Accommodation Operations at Time of Writing:

Following the latest Government advice we are advised that all overnight stays in holiday accommodation can proceed with any number of people or combination of household from that date.

If you have any questions please email

We will continue to work alongside the guidance given by the government and will amend our policies in due course when it is safe to do so. Please see the government website for more information about the Corona Virus:

You can be assured that we are working around the clock liaising with the owners of our holiday homes to enable the best possible outcome for you and your family should you be affected by any Government announcement or COVID diagnosis. We represent a small group of property owners who have all been working with us agreeing to more flexible terms at this extraordinary time.

I would like to book a holiday. Is this still possible?

All holidays will be subject to the government policies at the time of your stay as will rules upon household mixing. This extends to what facilities will be allowed to open during your stay. This guidance may change in the period between booking and arriving at The Point.

My holiday is already booked. Can I cancel?

Unfortunately, the deposit for your holiday is non-refundable. However, due to the current uncertainties, we have delayed your final balance payment to 6 weeks before arrival date. If your booking is effected by a positive COVID test, you may defer your holiday up to a year and no amendment fee will be charged. Once the final payment has been made the holiday cannot be cancelled or deferred. In exceptional circumstances, we will contact the owner of the property on your behalf.

What will happen if the government imposes travel/local restrictions?

We will continue to work alongside government guidelines, so if tighter restrictions on the movement of people nationally are brought into place or extended to Cornwall your holiday will be cancelled. You can defer your stay for up to a year, but unfortunately, deposits will not be refunded.

Please see link to our Terms and Conditions here.

Please see Covid 19 amendments to our Standard Terms and Conditions below:

  • Final balance payment date 6 weeks before arrival
  • Your holiday can be deferred for up to a year (dates can be confirmed later, subject to availability)
  • No booking amendment fee will be charged
  • Seasonal price differential will be charged/refunded
