With Spring just around the corner, it’s time to dust off the cobwebs and kick start your fitness goals with the help of a few of our favorite tips.

1. Get outside

As the weather starts to warm and the days get longer, head outside to enjoy the endless options of scenic walks and beaches Cornwall has to offer. Hit your recommended daily steps whilst exploring somewhere new with friends, all whilst reaping in the benefits that time in nature brings. Challenge yourself to add 1,000 extra steps to your day every 2 weeks for that added fitness bonus.

If walking is a bit too slow paced for your liking, why not try a game of Padel Tennis at one of our courts. This fun, social racket sport is suitable for all ages and abilities and is guaranteed to get your heart rate up.

2. Get Active

Find a workout that works for you. Whether that be in the gym, at home, group fitness classes or outside, finding something that you enjoy is key to achieving your fitness goals.

Try this full body HIIT workout written by one of our personal trainers Will Harris, that can be completed from the comfort of your own home, or whilst enjoying the outdoors.

3. Try Something new

With Spring symbolic of fresh starts and new beginnings, what better time to try something new. Starting in March we are offering a brand new Yoga class to our timetable, taught by Livia, a 500hr qualified yoga teacher.

The physical benefits of starting a yoga practice include: postural improvements, added flexibility and range of motion and gaining strength. As well as these, Livia wants to bring awareness to the fact that when applied to your everyday life Yoga can create habits of gratitude, connection and emotional regulation in uncomfortable or stressful times which can improve the quality of one’s life. Yoga classes will be included for members and will be £8 for non-members.

4. Nutrition

Now that winter is coming to an end, ditch the comfort food and start embracing the seasonal Cornish vegetables and produce that are becoming readily available.

In Cornwall we are blessed with an array of natural ingredients to choose from owing to it’s unique micro-climate and geographical make-up. With fisherman catching approximately 40 different species of fish off our coast (more than any other part of the UK) seafood is obviously at the heart of the Cornish palette.

But it doesn’t stop there. Cornwall is also home to some amazing livestock and produces some of the finest meats in the UK all of which are packed full of protein. The flavour coming from a unique combination of grazing conditions and organic methods.

5. Set a Goal

Where do you want to be in 6 weeks time? Setting a goal can help keep you on track and motivated towards your goals.
