The Point’s Ultra Endurance Challenge
This November 15th, the members and regular visitors of The Point at Polzeath are coming together for an incredible cause – a 400km ultra endurance event in support of the RNLI, the charity that saves lives at sea.
We’ll be taking over The Bear Bar at The Point to push our limits and raise vital funds for those who risk their lives to keep others safe on the water. Over the course of the challenge, our team will complete a gruelling 100km run, 100km row. and 200km on the bike – a 400km total of pure effort, teamwork and determination. This is more than just a fitness challenge – it’s a chance to give back to the brave RNLI volunteers and lifeguards who protect our coastline every single day.
Why the RNLI Needs Our Support
The RNLI’s lifeboat crews and lifeguards are on call 24/7, ready to launch into some of the most challenging sea conditions imaginable. Every donation helps provide the training, equipment and kit they need to stay safe and continue saving lives.
Here’s how your support can make a real difference:
• £25 could buy a pair of seagoing gloves, keeping a crew member’s hands warm and dry while providing a sure grip on rescue equipment.
• £149 could buy a pair of binoculars to help lifeguards spot people in danger on the beach.
• £350 could buy a helmet to protect RNLI crew members in the harshest sea conditions.
• Every donation, big or small, helps fund essential items such as:
◦ RNLI wellies – the iconic yellow boots that keep feet warm, dry and protected in all weather.
◦ Wetsuits – helping lifeguards stay warm and safe while patrolling the beaches.
◦ Lifejackets – vital for keeping crew members afloat if they have to enter the water.
◦ Crew training – turning ordinary people into extraordinary lifesavers.

How to Support the Challenge
You can show your support by coming down to The Bear Bar at The Point at Polzeath on November 15th to cheer us on during the challenge – or by donating directly via our JustGiving page.
Every pound raised will help the RNLI continue its life-saving work around our coasts, especially those closed to us here in Cornwall. Whether you’re a local, a visitor, or someone who simply loves the sea, your contribution truly makes a difference.
