Here are some of this year’s unmissable events.Tunes in the Dunes, 8-10 JuneSet on the beautiful golden sands of Perranporth beach, Tunes in the Dunes is back for a third year with an even bigger line-up. Sip a cold beverage and watch the waves rolling in as you enjoy performances from an eclectic range of musicians, including UB40, Pixie Lott, and the Stereo MCs. It’s within an hour’s drive of The Point, so you can enjoy all the benefits of live music on the beach without any of the disadvantages of a muddy campsite.Eden Sessions, 6 June – 7 JulyWith an impressive line-up of stars including Gary Barlow, Massive Attack, and Bjork, many of this year’s Eden Sessions have already sold out, however there are still a few tickets remaining for A Beautiful Day Out on June 23. Jam along to some of your favourite 90s bands in front of the incredible Eden Biomes. The venue is just a 45-minute drive from The Point.Rock Oyster Festival, 6-7 JulyA family-friendly favourite, North Cornwall’s Rock Oyster festival is just a short drive over the Camel Estuary. Accessible on foot and by bike via the Camel Trail, the festival is a midsummer celebration of food, music, and art with plenty of fun activities to keep the kids occupied.Port Eliot Festival, 26-29 JulyOriginally a literary festival, Port Eliot is now more of a giant garden party featuring everything from live music to stand-up comedy routines to culinary demonstrations from some of Cornwall’s top chefs. Set in the grounds of the fabulous Port Eliot Estate (about an hour’s drive from The Point), the festival is a family-friendly summer event with something that will appeal to everyone.Polzeath Beer & Music Festival, 27-28 JulyLaunched by The Point in 2013 as a small charity event, the Polzeath Beer Festival was an instantaneous hit and has doubled in size every year since. With this year’s line-up including top Cornish talent Echo Town, Josh Curnow, and The Roustabouts Collective, as well as a host of fun kids’ activities and multiple bars, 2018’s festival will be bigger and better than ever. View the full line up here.Boardmasters Festival, 8-12 AugustA must for all surfers, skaters, and live music fans, the ever-popular Boardmasters Festival returns to Newquay’s Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay for another epic 5-day summer event.
