From July 4th our Bear Bar will be open for the consumption of both Food and Drink following all necessary Government advice and guidance on social distancing and reduced contact.

With cosy sofa areas, comfy armchairs alongside bespoke tables, banquet seating and bar stools there is plenty of room for all to relax. Floor to ceiling windows and sliding doors highlight the amazing view of waves breaking on Newlands Island and Pentire Point. Cosy for the colder winter days and evenings, but at the same time allowing lots of light into the room.

Two large television screens show the sport of the day from Sky & BT Sports. A small bar menu is available with a few daily specials on the board.

The Bear Bar is named after a special friend, come and enjoy a pint with the bear.

CURRENT OPENING HOURS:

Monday – Sunday: 8 am – Late (Food Midday- 9pm)

Drinks – Available all day, every day inside and outside. No need to pre-book outdoor tables however as tables inside are limited we recommend bringing weather-appropriate attire as those sitting outside may not be able to get a table inside should the weather change.

Takeaway – Please book a slot for pick-up when pre-ordering by calling 01208 864602 on the day. Slots available every 30 mins from Midday. Contactless payment upon collection in the Bear Bar. 

Eat-In – Limited tables available indoors and outdoors – Tables indoors must be pre-booked in advance to avoid disappointment as covers will be limited. Table reservations concerning multiple households will only be accepted within Government recommendations.

Groups no larger than 6 will be permitted to sit together from Monday 14th September unless they are from the same household or support bubble. Visitors dining or drinking with us will have to provide a contact number and/or email address for track and trace purposes. We will also be encouraging visitors to sign in to our free Wifi in order to capture these details without the need for contact.

Delightful summer lunch - extremely impressed
We recently had lunch at The Point at Polzeath and were so impressed! They had a set menu for either 2 or 3 courses, both very reasonably priced. It was a beautiful day and we were able to secure a table outside with fabulous views across to Polzeath. The staff were really friendly and attentive, but unobtrusive. “Cannot speak for anything else but the delightful fish and chips we had there one evening. I had mine in lemon batter which was divine and came with the best minty mushy peas I have ever tasted! Much better fish and chips than the famed Rick Steins in Padstow! We will be back!”
