We understand you may have a few questions before visiting. Our friendly and knowledgeable team are always happy to help over the phone or by email, but we’ve also answered some of the most frequently asked questions below.

Do I need to be a member to visit The Point?

No – we’re open to non-members all year round. You can book a tee time on the golf course or driving range, purchase a day pass for the Health Club, or simply visit our restaurant and bar, which always welcome walk-ins.

Is The Point family-friendly?

Yes. As a family-owned business, we welcome visitors of all ages. We offer children’s menus and highchairs in the restaurant and a toddler pool in the Health Club.

Is The Point dog-friendly?

Yes – dogs are welcome in our clubhouse, including the restaurant and bar, as well as on the golf course. Many of our self-catering holiday homes are also dog-friendly. For safety reasons, we ask that dogs are kept away from the Health Club and the padel and tennis courts.

Is The Point wheelchair-friendly?

Yes. We have step-free access to the studio, Health Club and clubhouse, including the golf shop, The Bear Bar and terrace. There’s also a lift providing access to our upstairs restaurant, The Bear.

Is there parking at The Point and is it free?

Yes – there’s plenty of free parking available at The Point all year round. You can access us via either the Polzeath or Rock entrance, with parking located right outside the clubhouse.

Do you accept American Express?

We’re sorry, but we don’t currently accept American Express. We accept all other major debit and credit cards.

What are the opening hours at The Point?

Our opening hours vary depending on the time of year. For the most up-to-date information, please check the footer of our website pages or contact our team.

Do I need to book a table at The Bear?

We recommend booking a table, particularly during school holidays and busy periods. However, we do keep space available for walk-ins whenever possible.

Are The Bear’s opening hours always the same?

Our food service hours may vary throughout the year and can occasionally change for private events, seasonal demand or operational reasons. To avoid disappointment, we recommend checking the latest opening times or booking a table before you visit.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes – our menus include a range of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free (incl. coeliac) options. We also provide dedicated allergen menus, and our team are always happy to help accommodate dietary requirements.

Are children’s menus available?

Yes – we offer a children’s menu designed for smaller appetites.

Do you show live sport?

Yes – The Bear Bar is the perfect place to watch live sport. With multiple large screens, we show a range of games, tournaments and major sporting events.

Can non-members play golf at The Point?

Absolutely – our course offers an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all abilities and is open to everyone, not just members. Whether you’re a regular golfer or playing while visiting the area, you’re very welcome to book a tee time.

Do you offer golf lessons?

Yes, we currently offer golf lessons with our resident PGA professional, Phil Brookes. Book a lesson by calling our golf team on 01208 864601.

Can I hire golf clubs at The Point?

Yes, we offer a range of hire options – whether you need a single club for the driving range or a full set of the latest clubs for a round on the course.

Is there a dress code for the golf course?

As a relaxed resort course, we aim to keep things welcoming and comfortable for all players, however, we do ask that appropriate golf attire and shoes are worn on the fairways. There’s no dress code for the driving range.

Is The Point near Polzeath Beach?

Yes – The Point is located just outside Polzeath and is approximately a 20 minute walk from Polzeath Beach via a dedicated countryside footpath.

Can you walk to The Point from Polzeath?

Yes – there is a scenic countryside pathway linking Polzeath to The Point, with signage along the route. The walk takes around 20 minutes.

Are there any surf schools nearby?

Yes – Polzeath is one of Cornwall’s most popular surfing beaches and has several surf schools offering lessons for all abilities. These include George’s Surf School, Wavehunters and Surf’s Up.

Do you have accommodation on-site?

Yes – our sister company, The Point Holidays, offers a range of self-catering accommodation in and around Polzeath, including apartments, cabins and cottages within walking distance of The Point’s facilities.
