Golf Driving range

The Point Driving Range

The Point’s driving range is open to everyone, whether you are on holiday in the area, staying onsite, a member or even a total beginner. The driving range is a short walk, some 250m from the clubhouse, just below the first tee. Offering 4 covered bays plus a teaching room, outdoor grass tee and an astro surface, our range is an ideal place to hone your golfing skills without the pressures and challenges of the course.

Whether it’s some specific target practice, a warm up pre round, trialling a demo club from the pro-shop or just having a hit, the driving range is a relaxed setting to have a go at golf. It’s an ideal place for a beginner or even non golfers to experience golf in a fun environment.

The range is approximately 250m long, using Srixon 70% distance balls, allowing users to practice with every club in the bag from drivers to chipping, there are a range of target flags for distance control and measurement.

We also have a putting green situated next to the terrace outside the Bear Bar and chipping area (towards the 10th tee)with a range of targets to sharpen the short game.

After your practice, head to the Bear Bar for a post golf beverage or snack.

Purchase balls/tokens from The Golf Office (see opening times for more details) – £2 for 3 Balls/ £3.50 for 60 balls.

The range is open 7.30am to 7pm, with the last tokens sold at 6.45pm

If you do not have any clubs find us in the shop, where a member of the team will happily help with advice so you can hire clubs to suit your ability.

There is a £1 charge per club / free hire for juniors for practice range only.

Alternatively if you would like to play a few holes after your range session, hire sets are available from as little as £7 for a half set (for 9 holes, including balls and tees). Please note, a driving licence or card will be requested to hold as a deposit for the duration of hire.

If solo practice isn’t what your after – why not consider an individual or group lesson with one of our PGA Professionals. > Link to their page.

What people are saying
A good golf club with wonderful views,
“excellent views and friendly service. After two false-starts under different ownership the existing owners have invested serious money to produce a very good challenging holiday golf course, an attractive and well-appointed clubhouse and restaurant with spectacular views. The venue was the centre for 80 friends attending a weekend of golf, tennis and boules competitions with dinner one night in the restaurant.”

Golf
“We were invited to play at The Point by some members. What a stunning golf course, and a lovely club house where we were given a friendly welcome. Some really interesting holes, and a proper golf course as we could take our dog! Freddie enjoyed his 18 holes, and we were accompanied by the owners spaniel for the first nine holes!”

Society Golf!
“Thank you so much for your organisation yesterday. Could you please also pass on our appreciation to everyone else involved in making our day so pleasant. We found all the staff very helpful, friendly and flexible and that really contributed to a very relaxed atmosphere. Could you also pass on Jeremy and Tom our plaudits for turning the course into such a well kept, vastly improved and cleverly designed one.”

Great day in The Point at Polzeath PGA West Pro Am
“By a country mile the best greens I have putted on this year. Congratulations to The Point at Polzeath for hosting a superb Pro Am this year, first class service, food and possibly the best greens of the year.”
